Saka, Palmer, and Man Utd's Mainoo and Garnacho Vie for 2024 PFA Young Player of the Year Award



Manchester United's Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho have joined Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka, Michael Olise, and Joao Pedro on the shortlist for the 2024 PFA Young Player of the Year award.


The finalists were announced by the Professional Footballers' Association, highlighting an exceptional group of young talents.



Cole Palmer stands out as a leading contender after an impressive debut season at Chelsea, where he scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists in just 34 Premier League appearances.



Bukayo Saka, the 2023 winner, also had a remarkable season with Arsenal, netting 16 goals and contributing nine assists in the Premier League, plus four goals in the Champions League.



Manchester United's Mainoo and Garnacho both made significant contributions to their team, with Mainoo recovering from injury to make 24 league appearances, and Garnacho adding seven goals and four assists.



Michael Olise and Joao Pedro, who also made the shortlist, had notable seasons, with Olise moving to Bayern Munich and Pedro making an impact at Brighton. The winner of the award will be announced on August 20.
