William Saliba has called for unity among his Arsenal teammates as they gear up for a defining week with pivotal matches against Inter Milan in the Champions League and Chelsea in the Premier League.
The French defender believes sticking together will be crucial for bouncing back after Arsenal's narrow 1-0 defeat to Newcastle, which marked a second away loss on the trot in the English top flight.
“We are a bit sad because we wanted to win here today,” Saliba admitted as Arsenal.com reported. “Unfortunately, we didn’t, because I don’t think we played our best game. But we have to stick together and be ready for next week.”
Reflecting on the tight match, Saliba noted that Newcastle capitalised on their one major opportunity, leaving Arsenal on the back foot despite their efforts to equalise.
Looking ahead, Saliba sees the upcoming games as a chance to reset. “Next week we have two big games to come back with the win. I think we will do it if we give everything,” he said.
He insisted that the Inter Milan clash could serve as a "springboard" to restore Arsenal's confidence. “It’s a big game, and if we win, we have the confidence back. We all want to play big games like these.”
The defender’s message is clear: the team must come together and rise to the challenge if they hope to turn the tide in their season and push forward in their quest for success.
