Midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has officially joined Manchester United on loan from Serie A outfit ACF Fiorentina, with the loan deal extending until June 2024, pending international clearance and registration protocols.
The Moroccan international, whose performances during his country's remarkable journey to the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup were a source of delight, expressed his immense honour at signing for the Red Devils.
Amrabat was a pivotal figure last season as ACF Fiorentina made it to the finals of both the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Europa Conference League.
In an interview with MUTV, Amrabat, who initially joined Fiorentina from Hellas Verona in 2020, shared his sentiments, stating: "It's an enormous honour to don the Manchester United jersey. This moment has required patience, but I've always followed my heart, and now I have the privilege of representing the club of my dreams.
"I'm an impassioned player, and I intend to infuse that enthusiasm into the squad, dedicating my all to every action I undertake for the team.
"I'm well-acquainted with Erik ten Hag's coaching philosophy and his expectations of his players. His mentorship played a pivotal role in my development as a player earlier in my career. I'm confident that he will bring out the very best in me, enabling me to contribute to the team's success this season."
