Harry Kane's late header sealed a 1-0 win for Spurs at the Hawthorns.
The Lilywhites beat the Baggies 1-0 on Sunday to move to the top of the English top-flight for 90 minutes before Leicester City leapfrogged them following their 1-0 win against Wolves.
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho heaped praise on Harry Kane after the Englishman scored his 150th Premier League goal on Sunday.
The England international helped Spurs seal a vital win against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns as his header found the back of the net late on in the game.
However, Mourinho acknowledged Kane scores important goals for the north London club, and his all-around game is next to none, saying “this guy does much more than scoring goals”.
“I prefer not to speak because he speaks by himself. Because some other players can have an incredible goal record but after that, what they did? This guy does much more than scoring goals," the Portuguese said as BBC Sport quoted.
“For example, last five minutes he was playing as a number six and winning balls in front of the defence. Special.
"Every team, if you want to have a good position in the table and want to win objectives you need to win matches like this. We managed a clean sheet, we managed to be safe defensively.
"I feel satisfaction because we won and have 17 points and have 12 in 12 possible away from home and that compensates the dropped points at home, for this reason I am happy.
"If Liverpool win it means Manchester City drop points if Leicester win it means Wolves have dropped points. I am fine with that."
