West Brom 0-1 Spurs.
Kane: 'As the game opened up we created more and more chances.'
Tottenham striker Harry Kane says securing three points against West Bromwich Albion was all that mattered, and he isn’t paying attention to their position in the Premier League table.
The Lilywhites beat the Baggies 1-0 on Sunday to move to the top of the English top-flight for 90 minutes before Leicester City leapfrogged them following their 1-0 win against Wolves.
The late header that sealed the win at the Hawthorns was Harry Kane’s 150th Premier League goal, however, the Englishman praised their defensive performance on the day.
The England goalscorer said after the win: "All about getting the breakthrough. I got a little header in. As the game opened up we created more and more chances.
"When you just have a few minutes left it’s all about defending the lead.
"They created a couple of chances in the first half and looked dangerous on set-pieces.
"In the past three games you saw in last 15 to minutes we dug deep. When it comes to March and April that when those results matter.
"We know we have a lot of big games to come after the international break
"We can start to think about who will win the league in March or April time.
"We’ve probably dropped four points we shouldn’t have done this season and performances can be better."
