Sterling pleased with Chelsea's 'massive performance' against Dortmund.

Chelsea are ready for the quarter-final stages of Europe's elite competition after beating Dortmund 2-1 on aggregate.

Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling insists that the Blues did not doubt that they would advance into the quarter-final of the Champions League.

Graham Potter's side were impressive at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night as they ran out 2-0 winners over Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, thanks to a superb strike from Sterling and Kai Harvetz's spot-kick.

The victory over the Black and Yellow Army on Tuesday night means the west London club have now won eight of their last 10 Champions League home games.

After the game, Raheem revealed his joy at how the Blues 'had to dig deep' to secure the win.

‘It was a massive performance. We had to dig deep. We took our chances and recently we just haven’t had the luck,’ Raheem said post-match. ‘Tonight, we felt it as a team, we knew we could do it. Kai [Havertz] did it for us in the end.’

On Havertz's penalty kick, the England international said: ‘I have seen Kai shoot penalties all the time in training, and I was so confident in him, and he knew exactly what he was doing and I knew he would put it in the back of the net.

‘I miskicked it and didn’t have a great first touch, but it landed perfectly for me and that set us on our way to build on the performance!’
