Man United secured a 2-0 win over Forest, thanks to goals from Antony and Diogo Dalot as the Red Devils moved into the third spot in the Premier League table.
Erik ten Hag heaped praise on his Manchester United stars after they put in a solid display to beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Red Devils took the lead in the 32nd minute as Brazil forward Antony tapped the ball into the net after Forest goalkeeper Keylor Navas parried a shot from French Anthony Martial.
The awayside bossed the game from start to finish, with keeper Navas making crucial saves, although Forest had chances of their own but failed to convert.
And in the 76th minute, Antony cut in from the right before putting a through ball for United defender Diogo Dalot to slot home.
It was a brilliant display from Ten Hag’s boys and after the victory sent United into the third spot, Ten Hag told BBC Match of the Day: "Solid win. Really focused and concentrated from start to finish."
On the United defence, the Dutchman said: "Very good, a really solid performance from all on the pitch today. Centre backs had great cooperation, full backs were brilliant in and out of possession. Harry [Maguire] and Victor [Lindelof] dominated their opponents."
Asked about Marcel Sabitzer’s injury, he replied: "Sabitzer came off in the warm-up, he felt something. We decided not to take the risk, we will find out tomorrow what it is. But when you have Eriksen on the bench, it is definitely not a disadvantage.
"Last week I had nine fit top defenders, now I have four. We need all our players, we are still in three competitions, we need all the players to form a top team."
'The team comes first’
United midfielder Bruno Fernandes said of Marcel Sabitzer’s injury: "The most important thing is that who replaces him does a good job. We are not just 11 players, these things can happen. We are one of the teams where the subs have the most impact, so everyone was ready."
Asked about his thoughts about not getting on the scoresheet today, the Portuguese replied: "I just said to Keylor [Navas], he only saved mine! But the result is most important, we want to be in the CL next season. I want to get my goals, but the team comes first."
