Partey moved to the Emirates from LaLiga club Atletico Madrid for £45m in October, and his career in the English top flight so far has been blighted by injury.
Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey will miss the "next few matches".
The Gunners summer signing sustained an injury in Sunday's north London derby defeat at Tottenham.
Partey was ruled out for almost a month with a thigh problem before returning to Arteta’s starting XI against Jose Mourinho’s Spurs on Sunday, but the Ghanaian failed to complete 90 mins as he was replaced by Danny Ceballos just before half time.
Speaking ahead of Thursday's Europa League tie against Dundalk, Arteta explained Partey wasn’t rushed back to action after revealing his injury was on the same thigh.
"He got injured in the same area, but not in exactly the same spot as before," Arteta said.
"He had an MRI yesterday, there is an injury there, he will miss the next few matches.”
When quizzed if it was an unnecessary rush him back to action, Arteta replied: "No, he did incredibly well, he was confident. We tested him three times and he had no symptoms.
"But in football you have a lot of unpredictable actions. He went into the floor, his knee got stuck, after he needs to stretch and get up up. Immediately he put a lot of stress in a similar area and he felt it again."
