Man United are set to welcome back Pogba to first-team training next week and Sherwood reckons Solskjaer will have an ‘unstoppable’ trio in the middle of the park when the Frenchman returns.
Tim Sherwood says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have an ‘unstoppable’ midfield once Paul Pogba returns to the Manchester United starting XI.
The former Tottenham Hotspur boss reckons Solskjaer has a formidable set of midfield stars at his disposal when new recruit Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay and Pogba are all available for selection.
And he reckons Pogba-Fernandes-McTominay axis should be the ideal midfield system for Solskjaer to play against any side in the Premier League.
"I think they would be magnificent together," Sherwood told Premier League Productions.
"When he’s back I believe someone of Paul Pogba’s ilk will come back with a professionalism of playing for the biggest club in the world and want to prove – even if he doesn’t want to be there next year – that he’s a top drawer player.
"He will have been massively encouraged by looking at Bruno Fernandes coming to the club, performing like he has.
"Them two together with McTominay sitting in between them is an unstoppable midfield. One 6 and two 8s, the two 8s are Fernandes and Pogba."
