Tottenham's Ange Postecoglou Addresses Injuries and Squad Development Plans

Postecoglou has emphasised that Spurs aim to bolster various positions but underscored the importance of making judicious choices.

In a recent press conference, Tottenham's manager, Ange Postecoglou, provided updates on player injuries and the club's strategic approach to squad development.

Regarding the status of Cristian Romero, Postecoglou delivered positive news. "Cristian [Romero] is good to go," he confirmed. The defender had been under the care of the medical team, undergoing rigorous protocols.

"Obviously he's been in the hands of the medical team going through all the protocols. He's ticked all the boxes and felt fine all week. Aside from that, no change from last week," Postecoglou assured the gathered media on Friday afternoon.

Postecoglou then shifted the focus to the team's overall composition and the dynamics of squad management. He underlined the club's measured approach to acquiring new players. "We can't just keep acquiring players," he emphasised. "It's not so much one has to happen for the other [outgoings and incomings].”

The Lilywhites manager explained that while player movement, both incoming and outgoing, doesn't necessarily hinge on each other, the current emphasis is on streamlining the squad.

“Our focus for the moment is to try and trim the squad down and see where that takes us in terms of reinforcements," Postecoglou noted. He also acknowledged the ongoing evaluation process and stressed that, with several weeks remaining in the transfer window, there's still time for developments.

Highlighting the club's ongoing evaluation, Postecoglou outlined the strategic mindset, saying: "We're constantly assessing things - still a few weeks to go - and I'm sure you'll see some movement.

"We can strengthen in all areas but that's not about bringing in players for the sake of it. They need to be the right profile," the 57-year-old concluded.

With Postecoglou at the helm, Tottenham's approach is characterised by meticulous planning, thoughtful consideration, and a commitment to enhancing the squad in ways that align with the club's strategic objectives.
