Wenger Reaffirms Support for Arsenal and Backs Arteta's Leadership

Arsène Wenger Remains a Passionate Arsenal Supporter and Backs Arteta's Leadership

Former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has reaffirmed his enduring connection to the North London club, expressing his continued support for the Gunners despite stepping down from his role in 2018.

In a recent interview, Wenger shared his thoughts on Arsenal's progress under current manager Mikel Arteta and his own approach to life after leaving the club.

Wenger, who guided Arsenal to numerous victories during his 22-year tenure, revealed that he still follows the team closely. "I watch every match I can, most of the time on television, because I travel a lot," Wenger stated at the Olympic Gala Of Champions at the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris. "I'm a supporter, I continue to be a red and white."

The Frenchman, who remains a revered figure at the club, also disclosed that he occasionally speaks with Arteta, offering insights while maintaining a respectful distance.

"I speak to Mikel sometimes," FIFA's chief of global football development said. "I believe in life, you have to do as well as you can and give it all when you are somewhere in a place, and after, when it's finished, take a distance and let other people move. And that's what I do."

Wenger emphasised the importance of leaving a legacy that future leaders can build upon, reflecting his philosophy of nurturing long-term success.

"I think you want to leave the place in a good position where you can continue to do well and do even better," he added. "And that's all you can do."

As Arteta continues to shape his own era at Arsenal, Wenger's words underscore the responsibility and trust he places in the current leadership, while his ongoing support serves as a reminder of his lasting impact on the club.
